You

I try to stay cool like I was taught;
But to speak of you disarms me so.
Is it possible to float on one’s thoughts?
I find that my smile betrays my determined soul.

My eyes begin to glisten;
My smile deepens as I watch the moon.
My audience turns to listen;
I catch myself humming a tune.

Every rumble and tumble is a beat in our dance.
Every melody and rhyme, every word and chime
I dare say I hear you in the clapping of hands
Sigh... You’re even here as I sip my tea and lime!

I catch myself dreaming of roses in bloom
Of lilies and daisies, of matching colours and paisley
To think that you will soon be my groom

And that I will become you’re leading Lady…

And the story begins...

with the rise of the wind and waves
nothing remains the same

with each toss and every turn
nothing, this storm, can brave

her heart is under siege like a ship at sea
as her tears drop in time with the rain

it's said the rain washes
i have heard that he cleanses

but as the storm intensifies
another part of her dies
she gulps once more
hoping to relieve her sores

a lone survivor, she gasps and grasps
her heart is hoping, wishing

the sun whispers from behind a cloud
the wind retreats
the waves back down

the light breaks through
but it's too late
the story is over
....her fate is set...
